The Mission

Mission Humanity was established to provide tools to people in third world countries to help themselves

Education is the most essential tool.  It teaches one to be self sufficient.  It enables one to dream.  It provides the knowledge to see one’s opportunities.  It unleashes the talents that are lying latent.  It opens doors.  It overcomes obstacles.  It betters society as a whole.

Om Dutta Sharma, when he founded Mission Humanity, strongly believed that every individual has the ability to make a difference.  Driving a Taxi in New York city in the early 70’s, he began to pursue his dream to make a difference.  In 1997, overcoming multiple obstacle, he finally fulfilled his dream to open the first girl’s school in his village.  Multiple newspapers and magazines discovered the work that Mr. Sharma was committed to and stories of his work appeared in multiple newspapers and magazines all over the world.  He was given honorary doctorates by various Universities. Upon fruition of his dream, Om Dutta realized that there is so much more work to do.  Still driving a Taxi in New York City, Mr. Sharma, began an effort to begin education for adult women in a neighboring village, successfully.

Seeing the efforts of his father, Pramanik Bharadwaj, Om Dutta Sharma’s youngest son, wanted to continue the work of his father.  Having been born and educated in the United States, he pursued a medical degree, while finding novel means to expand and improve the work that his father had started. He pulled together a team of committed people from various backgrounds to come and work on taking the Charity to the next level.  Humdum Durrani MD, Nidhi Arya, Vishal Puri, Prasheel Bharadwaj all came together to develop Mission Humanity and give the opportunity given to the children of Mr. Sharma’s village to villages and homes all over the world.
